Manifesto

Images held between presence and disappearance.

We make images around the body, objects, identity, intimacy and transformation.

Our work often begins with a person, an object or a landscape, then moves somewhere less certain. The familiar becomes strange. A landscape becomes a stage. A portrait or still life can become evidence of a private ritual.

At the center of our practice is an interest in what remains visible when identity is concealed, and in the tension between tenderness and unease, beauty and strangeness, control and accident.

Working across photography and art direction, Atelier Oboro creates personal projects and commissioned images for people, objects and independent brands.
